A panoramic trip through the Swiss Alps aboard the Glacier Express is now even more spectacular. The new Excellence Class sets standards that are as high as the mountain peaks along the legendary route.

Window seat guaranteed

A rail journey through the Swiss Alps has never been so luxurious. In the Excellence Class we guarantee you a window seat and a superb panoramic view while travelling across 291 bridges and through 91 tunnels between St. Moritz and Zermatt.

Concierge and Infotainment aboard

During the entire journey, you will be taken care of by a concierge. Be it with culinary delights, answers to personal concerns or exciting anecdotes and information about nature, culture and people along the journey.

A five-course menu and the Glacier Bar for an aperitif

Along the way you will be served a refined regional 5-course menu with a accompanying glas of wine for each course. For an aperitif, some delicious cocktail or to exchange with fellow travelers the Glacier Bar is the perfect place to visit. Thanks to the compass on the ceiling none of the many turns will be missed.

Stretch

The Excellence Class is bookable for the stretch St. Moritz - Zermatt or Zermatt - St. Moritz.

The Excellence Class operates daily according to the time table on the trains PE 902, PE 903 & PE 923
(Please Note: There is no Excellence Class available 25.03. - 12.04.2024 ).

Price

To travel with the Excellence Class you need a valid 1. class train ticket for the stretch St. Moritz - Zermatt or Zermatt - St. Moritz. Details on train ticket prices and valid tickets can be found here.

In addition you need a seat reservation for the Excellence Class. The mandatory reservation fee for the Excellence Class costs CHF 470.-.

You can reserve your Excellence Class seat directly online in our shop. It is also possible to book your seat at any train station in Switzerland, major train stations abroad or at various travel agencies.
